Normally for a photography session, you want to reduce every bit of clutter in the background to avoid distracting elements. When I walked into the lab at the school of engineering I thought the chaos of the environment was representative of just how much activity goes on. I embraced the cables, knobs, boards, and screens which all helped convey the complexities the education program.

During the fall of 2018, Oakland University commissioned a new life-size statue of Matilda Wilson (by artist Lou Cella) to commemorate her historic impact on the school. The unveiling was held on a rainy morning during homecoming weekend.
